Muay Thai

Thai boxing: punches, kicks, elbows and knees, plus clinch work.

About this sport

Muay Thai, or Thai boxing, is known as the art of eight limbs because it uses fists, shins, elbows and knees. Training also includes the clinch, a close-range grappling position specific to this sport. Sessions follow a demanding structure: skipping rope, shadow boxing, heavy bag rounds, pad work with the coach where power and precision are developed, and conditioning. Beginners learn the techniques progressively and without obligatory contact; sparring is reserved for those who choose it and always supervised. Muay Thai develops remarkable physical condition and striking technique, and it attracts both fitness practitioners and competitors. In Morocco, muay thai is taught in combat sports clubs, often alongside kickboxing, with coaches trained in the Thai tradition and classes open to all levels.
